Question: How much does it cost?

Answer:

Please see the prices page for costs and offers @ http://carlscastles.co.uk/prices/

Question: What does the price for hiring equipment cover?

Answer:

The bouncy castle bookings includes delivery (of the bouncy castle, blower, extension cable and safety crash mats), set up and inflation and collection at the agreed time.

The HEZX ball pit bookings includes delivery (of the ball pit and balls), set up and collection at your requested time. (Please nore: with the HEX ball pit,we simple turn up, roll it in, take the cover off, and we are done! Super fast setup and de-kit means more time for your kids to be in with the balls!

The bungee run bookings includes delivery (of the bungee run, bungee straps and harness, blower and extension cable), set up and collection at the agreed time.

The obstacle course bookings includes delivery (of the (3 part) obstacle course, blowers, extension cables, and safety crash mats, set up and collection at the agreed time.

When hiring an operator you get a member of our staff manning the equipment for the times that you require.

Question: How long do I get the equipment for?

Answer:

Hire is typipically available from 9am to 8pm.

We have 4 hour packages or all day hire. 4 hour packages is just that 4 hours, all day hire is from 9am – 8pm.

We at times be busy in the evening, and struggle to get to everyone in the evening (as all day hires and 4 hour set-ups can be nicely spaced out through the day, but they all typically need to come in at the same approx time). So, at times, we may leave the kit with you, in your secure garden, until the next day. We would never charge you for the extra time, and you are of course free to use the castle with your extra time as our way of saying thanks for helping!

Question: Do I have to pay a deposit?

Answer:

No deposit is required. Cash is paid upon delivery.

– PLEASE try to help us out by having the cash ready on the arrival of equipment. That way, the set-up teams can concentrate on getting the equipment out in the proper manner, and when they come to do a swift de-kit, at a time of day that often is time sensitive, they do not need to remember who needs to pay, and have to chase people for the fee. They can arrive, and swiftly get the kit packed and get away. Again, if you are in a hall, the swifter the de-kit is, the more time you can have with the kit! Also, it allows you to leave at the right time too. Thanks for your help in this matter. —

Question: What happens if I need to cancel or if it rains?

Answer:

No fee is charged for cancellation, all we ask is that you give us at least 2 hours notice.

Some of the castles have built in rain covers and all the inflatables come complete with RCD circuit breaks and waterproof plugs, but it is not advisable to use the inflatables in extremely wet weather for safety reasons. When the castles get wet your children could slip out of the castle, with a possibility for injury.

The crew at CarlsCastles.co.uk will therefore always have an eye on the weather, whether it be rain, or wind. They are in this business for the enjoyment of the kids. The safety of the kids is therefore the most important aspect of any equipment hire. You child maybe disappointed by a castle cancellation, but that is preferable to your child being injured by using the kit in conditions that can be unsafe.

[And you have to give the guys credit for that, if you think about it, every castle booking that gets canceled due to weather is less income for them. So, they are putting the safety of your child ABOVE their need to earn an income. That is commendable in my book! USIN webs]

THERE IS A SOLUTION!

What ever the time of year, book a local hall for your party. If the van can get there, you have a party! No amount of rain, wind, snow (well…. maybe!) will stop the party going ahead. For you, almost guaranteed party, for your child, no disappointment due to a cancellation. FOR YOU – its not your floor or garden getting trampled by a group of excited kids running around!

Question: How does the inflatable operate?

Answer:

They either run on an electric blower, a blower and petrol generator or a petrol blower.

The castle is stitched together, normally using a strong cord, and triple stitched seams. These are tough, but not meant to be air tight. When someone jumps on the castle they cause it to compress, and that air has to go somewhere (or they might as well jump on concrete!) This air does not go out back out of the fan (they often have a gate to stop it, so as not to damage the fan) so the air blows out through the seams. This is why the fan runs all the time, it isn’t like a kids inflatable that you blow up and seal.

As you will see wen the fan is shut off, the castle can deflate pretty quickly. This is why, at times, some kit gets removed from service. The castle can be intact, but all the seams are a ‘little’ too loose, and the air loss a little too great. There is a fine line between proper air leakage, and too much. It isnt the stictching comming apart, and being dangerous, or anything like that, that is normally still strong, just too much air loss. Of course, castle design can lead to this being more of a problem on some where others are working harder, longer and still work better!

Question: Do I need to keep the inflatable plugged in?

Answer:

Yes, whilst the inflatable is in use it needs to be inflated. The inflatable should only be deflated by a member of staff.

Question: How long does it take to set up / inflate / deflate / pack up the inflatable?

Answer:

The bouncy castles take 20 minutes to set up and 20 minutes to pack up.

The penalty shoot out takes 15 minutes to set up and 15 minutes to pack up.

The bungee run takes 30-40 minutes to set up and 30-40 minutes to pack up.

The obstacle course takes 45 minutes to 1 hour to set up and 45 minutes – 1 hour to pack up .

The times stated above are and estimate and that is as long as no preparation is done before hand like making space etc. Please make sure the day we come to deliver your equipment all garden items are removed such as garden toys, swing, slides, patio furniture, rubbish etc

Question: How long does it take to set / pack up the ball pit?

Answer:

With our new ‘HEX’ ball pit we can simply arrive, roll it in, take the cover off and we are pretty much set.

Pack up can be just as quick, as long as all the balls are in the pit when we get there!

This means that if you hire the ball pit as well as another peice of equipment the @HEX@ ball pit can normally be the first peice set-up, and the last to be packed up. That means more time for the little ones to play, and may allow you to have a bit more time to setup and pack up yourself, if you are i a hall etc.
